Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.

Josh is 43 years-old. He loves God, his family and farming. Josh helps anyone who asks. Josh can fix anything. Josh is the hardest working man. He holds his emotions close to him. He has a powerful laugh that always makes his family laugh. He loves his tractors. He is proud to see his kids climb on them. Josh shows Bobby, 14 years-old, how to work our backhoe. Ann, 16 years-old, is Josh's shadow and organizes the farm paperwork along with the tools. We are the Schmitz's. We are a unit of 4 plus a little dog that Josh pretends to not like but shares his food with her.

I don't understand how my family has lived a year without Josh.  I miss him every day.  I miss his voice and his laugh.  I miss him kissing my forehead.  This life is not as bright and colorful without him.  I love you Josh more than I even knew.  You were my sun.
