Josh’s Story

Site created on October 1, 2021

Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place on what’s going on with my Dad, Josh. This site starts documenting his 3rd round of having cancer, starting with his surgery to remove a spot from the outside of his neck. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.

Newest Update

Journal entry by Joslyn Ramirez

The apparel order form has opened up once more and will be closing at 11:59pm on 10/20/22. At this link, you can order shirts, crewnecks, hoodies, decals, etc that honor Josh and directly support us girls.

I realize there hasn’t been an update on my dad since July. That’s mainly because I really don’t know how to continually put into words the slow, very drawn out decline of his condition. To keep it brief, he’s in a comatose state and today is 35 days without any formula nutrition and very minimal water to flush his meds via g tube. We were told he wouldn’t last more than 2 weeks, over a month ago. The hospice nurses visit every single day to track his vitals and check in with what we need, and just scratch their head at how he’s even still alive at this point, but ultimately allude it to his young age and generally having been in good health besides the cancer. We’re going on 11 months of hospice... If you’re the praying type, we ask that you pray that he will find peace in letting go and moving on to his soul’s next stop in his journey. We pray that his (and our) suffering can end immediately. And that he will go on to find more life when he’s finally free from this body. Liv and I know that his spirit will never be fully gone, always with us. Please send him all the love, bravery, peace, etc his way so we can let him know it’s okay to go.

As far as us girls, Liv and I (and the entire Ramirez family) aren’t fine obviously but we’re okay in the sense that we have what we need. We think a meal train would be beneficial in the near future, so when we’re ready for that, we will post that link on FB if you wish to support us in that way. Thank you for the prayers, thoughts, love being sent our way.
