Hello All,
Dad made his way back from Twisp this past weekend. He had a terrific time visiting with his friends and they threw him a nice homecoming gathering at the hotel where he sang and entertained in true Joe fashion.  He’s been feeling pretty good during the off week but has some increasing issues with his left eye and some blurriness so we are addressing that tomorrow with his Ophthalmologist and hopefully we can get to the bottom of it.  He’s had his treatment today and they modified it a little bit until we can figure out the eye issue as we think this is a stubborn side effect.  He’s enjoying this fine Texas weather as we are pretty much in the 70s and 80s here right now which is a far cry from the colder weather he had going on in Twisp.  He’s been connecting with my son Cameron every evening to walk our dog (his bestie) around the neighborhood. A nice time to joke and bond as grandfather and grandson.  Dad gets his steps in every day without fail whether it’s walks to the Tom Thumb grocery or just strolling the neighborhood. The doc says staying active is a huge part of navigating the treatments and its side effects. His appetite has been great and he’s maintaining his weight. He loves his smoothies which I pack with fresh fruit (which I freeze) peanut butter and a few scoops of protein powder.  The frozen bananas and blueberries make it more of a shake than a smoothie. He has another treatment next Thursday 4/25 so hopefully we can get this eye issue resolved by then. I’ll update again next week. Thanks for following. Love to all
