TEAM JORDYN!
Merry Christmas!
From our family to yours, we wish you a very MERRY CHRISTMAS. May your day be blessed with family and memories made.
I want to thank all of you on Team Jordyn for everything you have done for us on this journey. We owe you all so much. You have been there supporting our family and we are very appreciative of all you being there.
We didn't get Christmas cards out as we continue to struggle on this journey. The year has been filled with many new "firsts" for our family. The tears continue to flow freely as we live in this new normal. I only wish I were as strong as Jordyn as she wants us to live life. The memories are so special.
We did get most of our outdoor lights up and the Angel on the roof as I promised Jordyn I will always do. I also dressed as Santa on Christmas Eve and was outside waving as cars went by and we gave out candy canes to the neighbors kids as they were alerted that Santa would be stopping by.
We got a tree but this year only put a couple ornaments on in memory of Jordyn. We kept our tradition going with the Christmas Eve meal with lobster tails. We shared an extra one for Jordyn. We are just spending a quiet weekend at home watching Hallmark movies.
Since we didn't get cards or a letter out his is an update on our lives.
Payton had to go an extra semester at UMD to get her required classes in and officially finished last week. She was advised that she is graduating with honors in her degree group. The real world awaits.
Paige continues her engineer career at MMC as an Assistant Project Manager and really enjoys the work. There is a lot of long hours and stressful days with some of the demands of the job, but she's happy.
Jill is still working at SEH, now in her 36+ years. Maybe I will entertain thoughts of her cutting back in a couple years as she still enjoys it. Working some days at home and some at the office.
They are all still working at Buck Hill on the weekends.
I spend my days at a woodshop where I volunteer with The Invisible Wounds Project and Heroes Helping Heroes at the shop. These organizations support First Responders and EMS staff, many with PTSD. They get referred to us and we teach them to make different things from charcuterie boards, ink pens, signs, cribbage boards and bowls with the tools and machines. At the end of the day they take home what they made free of charge. Very rewarding for me and in my spare time I can work on my own projects.
There is so much to say, but it's Christmas and time to be together with family.
Thank you again for being part of Team Jordyn.
