Jordan’s Story

Site created on May 14, 2019

Jordan was involved in a severe car accident early Saturday morning, 5/11/19. He was taken to Shock Trauma at UMD after sustaining multiple internal injuries. Jordan is strong and he is a fighter! We appreciate all of your thoughts and prayers through this difficult time.

Please come back to this page as it will be updated daily with Jordan’s progress.

Newest Update

Journal entry by David Cohen

It’s been two weeks since our last update and Jordan is doing extremely well! Thanks to Melissa’s gourmet cooking (pancakes, peanut butter sandwiches, chips, etc.) and DoorDash, Jordan has gained back much of the weight he lost during his early recovery from the accident. He is progressing extremely well in Physical Therapy. With the use of a walker, Jordan was able to walk over 275 feet a few days ago! He is also now learning how to walk up and down steps with the use of arm crutches. It’s truly amazing to learn that his wheelchair may become completely unnecessary over the next 60 days. Once Jordan is able to confidently walk and up and down steps, he will return to his bedroom in our basement. That’s his current short-term goal!

Beyond that, we all just continue on one day at a time and look forward to Jordan’s continued recovery. We also look forward to Jordan gaining back some independence. He’s been through so much, it’s nice for all of us to begin to see a light at the end of the tunnel! 👊🏼❤️
