Jordan’s Story

Site created on January 15, 2021

Jordan lost feeling in her legs last weekend.  She was admitted to Denver Children's Hospital on Sunday afternoon and Audrey, Trey and Jordan are still in Denver seeking a diagnosis as the symptoms persist.  Hudson is back in Jackson with his grandmother, Ellen.  As of tonight,  they have ruled out a long list of potential causes but the doctors believe it is a functional neurological condition.  Jordan and the Davis gang remain positive and Jordan's therapists consistently comment on how strong she is physically.  Jordan is a dedicated student and plays Wyoming State and ODP soccer and is on the high school girls hockey team (state champs!).  Jordan's dream is to play soccer in college.  Jordan is starting a two week or more therapy regimen on Monday in Denver and is going to do everything she can to follow her dreams.  The purpose of caringbridge account is to keep everyone updated on Jordan's progress.  We also want to give information on how to help out the Davis family with extra medical, housing and travel expenses so they can all focus on Jordan's definitive diagnosis and get her on the path to recovery (click WAYS TO HELP).  We will keep you updated here on Jordan's progress.

Journal entry by Audrey Cohen-Davis

Hi all! Happy March!  We have no idea where January and February went as it was a blurr!   Jordan is on her journey to recovery and is working very hard with her fabulous physical therapists, soccer coaches, pool therapy and trying to remain mentally strong.  It was a bit overwhelming coming home and has been VERY difficult as Jordan still cannot feel her legs (her nerves still not responding).   BUT, her muscle memory is incredible and she is a rock star in terms of her strength and drive to beat this.  It is also great to be back home and at school with friends and family.   She is also very excited to be on the soccer field..... which is extremely important for her healing process and reconnecting the nerves with the brain.

We want to thank EVERYONE who has helped and supported our family and Jordan during this journey, including Hockey and Soccer coaches and team members (see attached pictures - Hockey State Champs!  It was soooo uplifting and phenomenal for Jordan to be there!), Jackson Hole High School teachers, coaches and staff, Teton Physical Therapy, All Body Therapy,  Gym 22, JHJC, Chabad, doctors and the amazing support of our family, community of friends, friends who are like family and new friends who became like family and incredible people who have reached out and assisted all over the world.  The Caring Bridge site, GoFund me, meal train and incredible generosity that was set up by friends has been priceless and we are eternally grateful and blessed to have you all in our lives.  Keep the prayers coming and know we are truly thankful!   😍
