We are doing well. Enjoying being in a place with family while we travel back and forth to Cleveland for treatments. Jon is tolerating his chemo, (only one dose so far). We forgot that, for him, it wipes out many red blood cells and so he has already had one unit of blood. We are going to work harder to bump up his iron intake. He is holding weight on, but still thin (lost a lot of muscle too when he lost 23# last year and only gained 10# back.) His next chemo dose is the 17th. Chemo has not taken his hair and in fact, although it is not curly anymore, he is getting back a little color from when the last drug turned his hair stark white.
He did not yet receive the radiation beads to his liver, as his kidneys are still not functioning well enough. He had the new stents replaced already but that didn't help so they are doing a bilateral nephrostomy this week where tubes come out your back from your kidneys and urine drains into bags. We are praying that this is temporary but it might be 2-3 months before he is re-evaluated for plugging them or going back to stents.
Once his kidneys are looking better, then they will schedule the other procedures we are waiting on to beat this thing. We really feel that the health care team at the CC are really doing a great job and we are blessed to be able to get care there. I pray in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit that you all are well and happy. We love you all so very much and when times are tough I think about all of our prayer warriors who are lifting us up! Keep in touch with us so we know how and what to pray for you as well. Also Jon's phone is back on (we both have iphone mini's now) so if you want to facetime that would be great (not first thing in the morning - you know who you are!) Kisses and hugs to all and if you live in Pittsburgh, lets get together this summer!!!!
PS Today Jon booked us at an RV camp in Canada which overlooks the Niagara Falls from July 1st thru 8th. They have 5 min of fireworks every night at 10pm and they light up the falls with colored lights every night from 6pm to 1am. It will be gorgeous! There is also a shuttle that takes you directly to the falls edge. I am so excited and Jon's never been there! Maggie might have to see this sight as well (our cat). Anybody wants to join us, please reach out!
Happy Sunday tomorrow! Praise the Lord! God is Good, ALL THE TIME!
"Blessed be the Lord,
who has heard the sound of my pleading.
The Lord is my strength and my shield,
in whom my heart trusts.
I am helped, so my heart rejoices;
with my song I praise him." Amen
