Joni’s Story

Site created on November 18, 2022

Welcome to Joni Gorowsky’s caring bridge site.

On November 18th, 2022 we heard the words no parents ever or want to hear. “Your daughter has cancer”.
On Nov 28th it was confirmed she has BCOR sarcoma.
A super rare form of sarcoma (2 children are diagnosed yearly in the USA, TWO 🤯) We are signed up for the long haul. 6 rounds of chemo and surgery to remove the cancerous tumor.

We are using this to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement.

If you’d like to offer some additional help we’re including the link to their meal train site so we can keep Betsy, Robby and Joni fed with healthy delicious food: https://www.mealtrain.com/trains/n1meve

Journal entry by Betsy Bissonette

Scan #3 is done only 11 to go.

Scans came back all clear!! Yay!!

Joni, as always did amazing. She did the CT scan without sedation again. They call her a rockstar in the CT room. ❤️❤️
They had a hard time placing the IV this time, which wasn’t fun. So we used gas to help her fall asleep and it worked pretty smoothly.

We’ve been practicing with the mask at home, Putting it on her stuffed animals, mom and dad . We also decorated it with the stickers so she seemed much more comfortable with it this time around.

We’re relived and so happy.

Love you all.
