Journal entry by Alyssa Baden

Hello,

Sorry it has been quite some time since Dads page has last been updated. Dad was able to come home the end of July which we were all really happy to see! The first few months home called for several ER and hospital trips but in true dad fashion made it through all of them. Fast forward a few months and Stacy and Sophia along with Chris, Alyssa and the grandkids stopped in and see Jon and Peggy on Christmas Eve and it was nice to have dad home for the holidays. They have even been able to sneak in part of a hockey game of practice of one of the grandkids this year, sshhh don’t tell we’ve broken COVID rules!! Alyssa and Stacy have been working hard to keep Jon going to all his appointments, scheduling calls and even firing a few doctor teams along the way. Jon is finally on the mend to healing wounds we were told at one point may never heal and has been able to cut his dialysis times down by an hour each visit. We are gearing up for Jon to have his first of several surgeries for facial reconstruction. The first surgery is scheduled for late February and the doctors have booked the operating room for 10 hours for the first one.  Jon is very exciting for this while the rest of the family is very anxious!

Thank you all for the continued support and love! Take care and be safe!
