Jonathan’s Story

Site created on May 4, 2023

Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.

On Saturday, April 29th, Jonathan went out for his first bike ride of the season and got in an accident. He was life flighted to Legacy Emmanuel and rushed to surgery for some abdominal injuries. Since Saturday he has had a few surgeries to reconstruct two broken arms and is still in the Trauma Acute Care Unit. It will be a long road ahead, but we are grateful for all the love and support for Jonathan and our family.

Journal entry by Quinn Johnston

What a week. JC had his drains removed this week and was given splints for his right and left arm that he can remove for showering and PT/OT exercises. His bones were repaired with plates and screws, so the splints are to assist with stability, but he's glad he doesn't need a full cast. He's walking a bit more around the basement and we've had a few nice days outside in the sun.

I can't believe how well he has healed over these past few weeks! We are all looking forward to him starting outpatient PT/OT in a few weeks to gain back some strength and flexibility in his arms.
