Happy New Year!
I realize I haven’t posted an update since November. I wanted to let some time and additional test take place before I myself concluded that the transplant operation and recovery is all over and that I truly feel my health is better than ever. The staff overseeing my care released me in mid December to return home from Ochsner Health in New Orleans. The organ
Transplant surgery and initial recovery period has been a success. I can put an end to this chapter of my journey and be thankful for the things I’ve learned and been able to accomplish along the way.
I cannot thank everyone for the abundance of prayers and support through these past few years enough. I lost a lot of things that I thought were important but looking back on those”things” and circumstances and knowing the direction I’m headed, I now understand why - and that brings peace and happiness. The truth is I prayed for a complete and total change in June of 2018. Within 24 hours that prayer was answered. The stories of what led me to that point are some of the most treasured moments and experiences of my life. I smile thinking of all I’ve had the opportunity to experience. Maybe one day I will share in a written book on the specific details that led up to this story, how God impacted my life, and put my life on its purpose driven track.
My main point of focus at the moment is spending as much time with my daughters as possible. Harper and Reid, I love you both! I’m amazed at what’s taking place even in your own hearts girls. As your father I couldn’t be prouder.
I suppose career wise I’m considering several various paths of opportunity. I’m considering a lot of change in this part of my life, but I’m not in a rush right now. I’m hoping to spend some time practicing being mindful and slowing time itself down. I’d really like to volunteer my time to some areas of personal focus as well.
I wish that you have a wonderful end to the year this evening. Tonight I hope you will join Me in spirit and be encouraged about the start of the new year. Whatever your resolution or wish is remember, all things are possible with God. I’m a living example and I hope my journey from day one has encouraged others to continue to find strength and focus. I am forever thankful and super excited about the future.
With much love -
Jon W.
