Jonathan’s Story

Hello dear fam and friends,

I hate to have to share that Jonathan had a brain hemorrhage (AKA hemorrhagic stroke) Monday, March 7th.  It happened that morning when he suddenly lost all function on his left side.

We started at Kennestone in the neuroICU and thankfully the bleeding stopped on its own without surgery. They ruled out immediate danger/risk of rebleed but still don't know what caused it. We'll have to try scans again in 4-8 weeks when the blood clears to look again at the tissue and veins. 25% chance we'll never know the cause.

He is stable and has been awake and responsive the whole time. His speech and cognition are not affected, but he still doesn't have left side function but has little wins every day. Like the other day, he flicked me off

He has moved to the in-patient rehab facility at Cobb hospital to work on regaining that left-side function.

Please pray for him and our family.

Many of you have asked how you can help, and I think we will know more in the coming days when we know what life with rehab looks like. The best help right now is prayer!!

Hi all,

We’ve finally nailed down the plans for our TAAFWalk, given the Fall Break overlap!

We'd love to have our local friends walk with us this Saturday on the Silver Comet trail in Smyrna.
‼️if you can join us, please RSVP to this evite because I can’t keep things in my brain! http://evite.me/NGHwkmfJFY
⏰Arrive at 10:15, and we’ll walk at 10:30.
🏁1-1.5miles total. Most of the trail is shaded. 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 🦮Bring the kids and their ride-ons, bring the dogs!
🏃‍♂️Jonathan will set our pace… but wear your running shoes, because he’s way faster than last year 😂🥰

If you are so led, you can also still donate to the cause via our team, With Fight and Faith, fundraising page: https://www.classy.org/team/527952

Hello dear fam and friends,

Fun news, we’re excited to participate in TAAFWalk again this year!

As you know, this is cause near and dear to our hearts, as it was a ruptured AVMthat caused Jonathan's stroke.

While we won’t be able to make it to San Francisco, we’ll be showing our support by walking locally, although we haven't yet figured out when and where we'll be walking!  Local friends stay tuned for the invitation to join us in a walk to support TAAF in bettering the lives, support networks, and medical care of those affected by AVMs, aneurysm, and other types of vascular malformations of the brain.

Until then, if you are so led, you can support the cause by donating to our team, With Faith and Fight, fundraising goal!
