John’s Story

Site created on December 26, 2018

Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.

On Tuesday, December 18th, 2018 John was taken into the ER for abdominal pain caused by a hernia. While he was there, the doctors ran tests that showed John has cancer. They have diagnosed him with stage 4 renal cell carcinoma, which is cancer of the kidney. He has a large mass on his left kidney that has spread to his lungs. There is a mass on his lung that is perturbing his right shoulder bone and causing some pain.

Hello Everyone,

With thanksgiving right around the corner, we wanted to take a minute to show our gratitude toward all of you! We would like to thank you all so much for your kindness, generosity, prayers, and unfailing support throughout this past year. You all helped dad stay as strong as he could during his fight. He would read your texts and comments on this caringbridge site and remember those words through each day. You kept his spirits up, and for that we thank you so so much.

We hope that you all have a great Thanksgiving with your families!

With love,
The Zipp Family
