John’s Story

Hi, I am Lynette Wortham. My husband of almost 33 years is John Wortham. He is currently hospitalized at Kaiser Permanente, Walnut Creek. After having a lot of tests done, including MRIs, CT scans, blood tests, we receivesd the devastating news that he most likely has. renal cell carcinoma in his right kidney (kidney cancer.) It appears to have already spread to his lower spine; he also has nodules in his lungs. The current plan is to start chemo to treat the spine. The removal of the kidney and mass attached to it will also be scheduled soon.

We feel like we have a great team of doctors. We are also blessed with many dear friends, relatives, and family, that have been so supportive, and most importantly, a mighty God holds us in his hands and has the power over everything.

We will try to keep you all posted as news comes to us.

Prayers are much appreciated. I will share all postings with John.

We will be having a memorial service for John on Sunday, Aug. 26, 3 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church, 2020 5th Street, Livermore, California 94550
