John’s Story

Site created on August 23, 2021

As many of you know, our dear Dad is currently in the hospital needing a miracle.

He started feeling sick last Monday, 08/16, and after a few rough days at home and a negative covid test, mom took him to the ER to be evaluated. We are so thankful he went when he did!

He was admitted and it was determined Dad has a severe kidney infection that went to his blood (sepsis) and he does in fact have Covid on top of that. Due to covid, he can have no visitors and mom is self-quarantining at home (with regular visits from her stubborn, masked daughter).

After an emergency procedure, he was intubated and transferred to ICU for critical care on Saturday, 08/21.

Thankfully his covid is mild but we really need his systems to start responding on their own, his blood pressure needs to self regulate, and the kidney infection and sepsis to respond to the antibiotics and clear up. While we have seen some small improvements, dad is still very sick.

We will continue to provide updates here for those that want to stay updated. This is a marathon, not a sprint, and we are trusting God, the great healer, to heal our dad, husband, papa, and bring him home to us. He is an incredible man who we love dearly. He plays a pivotal role in our lives and many of yours and we can’t wait to have home and healed.

Thank you for your prayers, thoughts, and well wishes for healing and peace. We feel them and are encouraged by the dear friends and family praying around the globe. We love you all!

Mom is adamant she does not need food delivered but many of you have asked. Check out more here: https://takethemameal.com/ZPTC4587

Journal entry by Erin Ward

Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good, His love endures forever.

After 2 weeks in the hospital, Dad is home. ❤️ Words can’t describe how utterly grateful we are for his healing and to have more days with him on this side of heaven.

Dad is blown away by the love and support shared while he was in the hospital, just like we, his family, have been.

His road to recovery will be packed and we appreciate your prayers as he gains his strength back.
