John Rudy’s Story

Site created on March 4, 2019

John Rudy! Where do I start! He was born in Haiti and came to America when he was 10 due to a heart condition. He suffered a stroke while in Haiti and was a very sick little boy.  Once here, it was determined that he needed to stay in the U..S. to  continue medical care. We heard about his need and welcomed him into our home as he stole our hearts with his big brown eyes and beautiful smile!  Over the next 15 years he’s had a ring put around his mitral and also had a defibrillator placed. Thursday night he suffered a heart attack and has been in ICU since. He has two major hurdles...brain function and heart. Please pray for Rudy as he fights hard and anyone who knows him, knows he is  a fighter! We covet your prayers and continue to trust God to go before us. He is ever faithful!

Journal entry by Crystal Anderson

Sunday was a precious day as we remembered John Rudy and his beautiful life. He made a mark on so many with his infectious smile and rolling belly laugh. He was gracious, kind, stubborn, and such a deep thinker. All these things made John Rudy so very special. As a mom with with 4 blonde babies with blue/green eyes, Rudy was my brown eyed boy(my eyes are brown).I always wanted a child with brown eyes and oh how I loved to look into those beautiful big brown eyes of his. I’m not sure how to live life without him...how to go on, but God graciously gave Rudy to us and it has been such a faith journey. So, really, what else is there to do but continue in faith knowing that God finished his story well and he is no longer in pain, no longer has a right hand and foot that doesn’t work due to a stroke at the age of 10. No longer does he carry the burdens of this life. He is free and healed and has no more tears or fears. How can his “Ma” be angry with God for that. But oh how my heart aches at the thought of not seeing him this side of heaven. Too hard to grasp at the moment. I will choose to cling to His promises and look forward to that day when I will see my precious Rudy again. I can’t wait to look into those brown eyes again and hear all about it!
