Journal entry by Lisa Archer —
We wanted to update everyone on Dad. I haven't updated much lately, because there has been a lot going on. Dad's decline has been slow, but steady. Our family has decided to place him under the care of Hospice. He will get more regular visits as well as nursing aide visits and chaplain visit. He was admitted to their care (at home) last night and today the nurse, social worker, and chaplain came to visit. These are some really sweet folks.
This was a tough decision, but it will give him more appropriate care as well as provide more help for mom. Rick (my brother) and I have been taking turns over the last two weeks staying with them at night. I have taken off work this week to be here during the day as well. Rick had knee replacement surgery Tuesday, so he is at home recuperating currently.
Mom is currently nursing a cracked rib that she obtained Wednesday night. She is ok, but moving slowly and has quite a bit of discomfort. She's the toughest girl I know!
Prayers are appreciated as we transition into this new season of life.
Our HOPE is in HIM!
Love to you all!
Lisa and family!
