Newest Update

Journal entry by Anita Pruitt

Sorry for the delay in updates…going back to work made it hard to keep up.
John is doing great! He we to inpatient rehab at Moses Cone hospital and rocked it. He worked so hard but some days were better than others. His rib pain and some gas in his ribs, along with the intensive therapy, made for some really uncomfortable times. But he was a champ and graduated PT and OT Thursday, September 8th. He came home from the hospital Friday, September 9th, on day 25!!! We are so thankful for all of the staff, nurses, physicians, techs, environmental services, dieticians, down to the receptionist at the entrance (who recognized me as the one who came running in crying one day) at Moses Cone and their professionalism and compassion they showed for both of us. Our managers have been fabulous, as well!! Johns directors gave him a gift card and called or text me almost everyday to check on him, while mine were constantly supporting me and at times giving me a shoulder to cry on. THANK YOU ALL!!

When we got to the RV, it was difficult for John to get up the 6 fairly steep steps at the doorway. After trying to manipulate our way around there for several hours, we decided I would take the week off and we would come home (to Inman) where he could move less inhibited and rehab better.  We have a more level paved area where he can walk vs walking in gravel or grassy areas.  Plus I will
have some help here too.

Thanks to all our family and friends for the continued prayers and love you’ve given us!! I am so thankful to have my husband, my soulmate and best friend to continue life with.  To God be the Glory!!!
