John’s Story

Site created on July 1, 2023

Welcome to John's CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.

Friday 6/23/23 John visited the University of Cincinnati Medical Center emergency room because he had some swelling in his neck, difficulty swallowing and chest pain. After being admitted they found a large mass in his chest. It was determined at that time that it was likely lymphoma, and a biopsy was ordered. The biopsy was performed on 6/29, at UCMC. After the procedure he began to have trouble with his breathing, so he remained on a ventilator. The large mass is pressing on his lungs and making it difficult to breathe. Currently  John is in the ICU.  Preliminary biopsy results indicated that John has T-Cell cancer. On Friday 6/30 John started receiving steroids to begin reducing the mass in his chest. It is expected during the week of 7/3 that John will begin chemo therapy treatment.

John is man of God and prayers continue to pour in. We have been praying over him daily in the hospital for strength and healing. John is a special person and has impacted the lives of so many. He is a connector of people and while John heals and recovers he continues to bring people together. The response from the community has been amazing! Sherry and the family thank you for continuing to lift them up in prayer and the support that is pouring in.  Each day we look for the next win and we look forward to sharing the next win on this journey.

Please keep your prayers coming… for mental and physical strength, courage, and less side effects. God is on our side and we’ve got this❤️❤️❤️❤️
