John is considered in “complete remission”. This is what they will call it for clear scans over the next 5 years. He now will have bloodwork and a doc appointment every 3 months. With a PET scan every 6 months. This will go on for the next 2 years. Then years 3-5 he will have bloodwork and a doc appointment every 6 months with a PET once per year. After 5 years of clear scans and good bloodwork he’s deemed “cured” from the cancer.
Steve and I are honored to write this last post about this journey we, as a family, have traveled with our son and daughter in love. What a wonderful family night it was to celebrate and thank God for all he has done!
We are in awe at the goodness of God and His faithfulness… in good times and bad. We are thankful for remission, for the prayers that were prayed faithfully and…for Johnny and Brittany who stayed strong and kept their faith in their Savior all along the journey. We are proud of their stand for Jesus and the strength God has given Johnny and the unwavering support from a wife that has been strong and supportive every day!
As Johnny says, “God’s goodness is not dependent on my circumstances”. God is always good. If full remission was not the diagnosis today, He is still good. The grace and mercies of God never end.
Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
