Journal entry by GINNY HOGAN

Today John had the first scans since his surgery.  These scans basically give a new baseline for anything going forward.  As I am sure you can imagine, we have been on tender hooks to see how the surgery went.  The scans showed what the Dr. called " a few lit up areas" which could be just residual from the surgery. He showed us the actual scans of before and after and the difference is amazing...  One thing the scans did show is that John has a new abscess, so he is going back to NIH on Friday for surgery to have a drain inserted.
So the next steps are to recover from Fridays surgery, keep building strength, keep gaining weight and go back in 6 to 8 weeks for new scans and hope they say come back in 6 to 8 weeks again.
