Hi friends,

A little bit less than a month after my stepmom Teala died, my dad was hospitalized with severe pain. Last night he received the diagnosis we had come to expect and fear: pancreatic cancer, which also took his sister just two years ago. It is inoperable and untreatable, and the prognosis is terminal.

It takes a lot for me to get to the point of saying we need help, but we do, in order to do the best we can within these circumstances, need help. Josiah, my 17-year old brother and his dog Star especially are in need of support. We will accept, gratefully and gladly in any way in which you feel moved or able to be part of our system of support.

Needs:

Managing the household, which fell into bad shape during Teala's illness

--organizing paperwork

--cleaning

Childcare support so I can be with my dad, running errands, etc.

Help training Star (the dog) and facilitating relief for his anxious behaviors, walks for Star

Palliative support for my dad's pain

We are interested in palliative psilocybin and other alternative care, he really hates the OxyContin he's been prescribed

Grief support (I'd love to find Josiah free or sliding scale therapy, etc)

Massage, herbal remedies, acupuncture, whatever can relieve some of the burden

We need to go through Teala's belongings, a professional job

We need help organizing bills and paperwork

We need hugs and love

If you have money but not time we have a go fund me to help with some of the stuff we need, like dog training classes, professional cleaning and nurses/CNA's. If you have neither time nor money but you have good ideas or connections to others who may have ways to support, that is also incredibly valuable so please don't hesitate to share them.
