John’s Story

Site created on May 20, 2020

On May 19th, John went in for an MRI, and a tumor (4 cm) was discovered on the right side of the brain, on or near the 4th Ventricle along with Hydrocephalus (Buildup of Fluid in the cavities ventricles deep within the brain). Overnight, John and Katie took a PC12 flight to Seattle to see a neurologist at Harborview Medical Center.

Happy Birthday John!

It is hard to believe that one year ago you were just getting home from in patient therapy at St. Luke's. You have come such a long way and we are all so proud of your hard work day in and out.

Just a quick update for all the loyal followers... John had another MRI in July. All scans were clear and the doctors were impressed with his progress. He will continue to go for MRI's in Seattle every three months. In July, John and Katie were able to travel to Hawaii for a friends wedding and some much deserved quality time. When they got back, they got to celebrate another wedding, John's mom. Congratulations TJ and John! Finally, John was able to take his cognitive driving test and was cleared to drive again! Phew... what a busy summer.

John and Katie are excited to be moving on from a year of uncertainty. They are currently in the process of moving back to the Lewiston area so Katie can be closer to work and John will start looking for jobs.

John, we hope you have the best day doing all the things you love, you deserve it!
