John’s Story

Site created on August 23, 2023

Welcome to John’s CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope.

PLEASE READ THIS IMPORTANT UPDATE!!!!

This site says it’s FREE and it IS free so do not be suckered into “donating” to them under the guise that it will go to John Blando and his family. They word it as if it does but it goes to the maker of Caring Bridge website. You CAN see all our updates and posts and pictures without donating to this site.

That being said, if you ~do~ want to donate, I’m sure the family could benefit as the road ahead is a long one with hospital expenses, rehab, home health, nurses, equipment, and inevitably hand surgery down the road.

Newest Update

Journal entry by Kelly Cheung

John is making good strides. They had him mimic using a walker on “carpet” this week which he says is much harder on a mat (as I can imagine!) which will hopefully make carpet seem easier!

He has less than a week left at St Luke’s rehab and then will be back home but thankfully will be able to go daily, to a new place called Ability One (out patient) for more one on one therapy sessions lasting hours a day before returning home.

Please pray for his little tremor he has developed. Pray that his muscles continue to gain strength and that God continue to heal the portions of his brain where he had the strokes. Pray that he continue to have endurance and umph!

Thanks everyone,
