John A. Steinmacher, 70, of Orefield, died Tuesday, February 5, 2019 at St. Luke’s Hospice House, Lower Saucon Township. He was the husband of Randa C. (Reinecke) Steinmacher to whom he was married 47 years last May 15. Born in Newark, NJ, July 4, 1948, John was the son of the late Anton C. and Marie D. (Klena) Steinmacher. He obtained a bachelor’s degree with high honors from Rutgers University in 1979. He faithfully and honorably served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War era.  John was employed as a Quality Manager at Cigna in Easton for 12 years before retiring. Prior to that, he worked at Prudential AARP in Fogelsville for many years. John was an NRA member and a member of Mensa International. John’s passion besides his family, was reading and running. He completed a total of seven marathons, most notably the 100th running of the Boston Marathon.

Survivors: In addition to his wife; son, Jason M. Steinmacher and his companion, Stacey Rogoski and her son, Kolby Wyckoff of Orefield; daughter, Kristen C. Long of Little River SC; grandson, Damon M. Long; siblings, Anton C. Steinmacher of Keansburg, NJ, Cathy Strbo of Union Beach NJ.

Service: A visitation period will be held from 1:00 pm. – 4pm. Sunday February 10, 2019 in the Heintzelman Funeral Home, Inc. 4906 Route 309, Schnecksville. Online expressions of sympathy may be recorded at www.heintzelmancares.com
