It’s the second anniversary of Joe’s fall. If you’re on Facebook or have access to it, you’ll want to hop on and enjoy the journey as Heather has posted “Joe-isms” and pictures. Some of the pictures were not posted early on because of the severity of Joe’s injuries.
I don’t know or understand why Joe’s life was spared when others aren’t but I do know that it has caused me to be more introspective and thankful for my blessings.
He made a comment tonight that he can live with his “new normal” and that if he had to choose between paralysis and brain injury, he would choose paralysis (maybe he forgot he had both?). The staff at Craig Hospital repeatedly assure Joe that each year will be better. It is—he loves the independence of his red mini-van and taking 17 mile rides on his hand cycle among other things. Your love and encouragement is so much appreciated.
