Week 3 - This week was an adventurous week!

We ventured out in the good ol trusty Honda Pilot for a few appointments.  Needless to say I was a little nervous with the first car transfer but we did well and had no issues.

Due to the left side weakness it is easier to get in on the drivers side and since driving will be a ways down the road, Joe had to be a back seat driver.  He fulfilled his duty with upmost responsibility providing advice throughout the trip.  🙂

On the way home we made a trip down memory lane and drove through the beachside neighborhood we lived in taking a small pit stop to look at the ocean from the car window.  Joe encouraged me to go for a quick walk on the beach and ground myself but I refused.  The next time we walk on the beach we will be walking on it together.

This week we are going to go on an even bigger adventure.  We are heading to the Mind Eye Institue in Chicago.  It is a good 18 hour drive of which he is dreading.

Joe’s mom is going to make the trek with us so it should make it much better.  She has even mapped out our travel plans as I haven’t even had the time to think about it.  I hope she knows how much I appreciate her willingness to spend 36 plus hours traveling with us.  Hoping the weather salary’s on our side.

My dad and stepmom are driving from Iowa to look after Rodger while we are gone.  Hopefully there won’t be to many bad habits we have to break with a week with my dad.  His last visit resulted in breaking him from the couch.

While the trip may be long and grueling, everything I have researched gives me hope that fixing the sight will help with all other therapies.

Please send all your positive thoughts, energy, and prayers that the trip will be smooth sailing and that Joe can endure the backseat driving responsibilities for 36 plus hours.
