As Courtney and I got older, my dad identified a missing link in Ferry Beach's programming. There was a lot for families and adults, but not much that would work for young adults. At the time, people could come to a conference for the entire week but not just for a day or two.

Dad worked with the administration to set up some camping spots and allow for flexible food options. Whilw some of these things have changed in the meantime, his vision of keeping young adults connected to Ferry Beach has gone incredibly well for our annual conference "Family and Friends." We see many young adults volunteering to help with children's programming and also participating in adult workshops when they can. Then young families are bringing their kids back to the beach.

The finances of attending Ferry Beach can be tough. It's a beautiful place, right on the ocean, but so much of its finances depend on the summer months at this point which makes it an expensive vacation for many families.

The scholarship fund we set up in my dad's honor will allow young adults to request help in attending Ferry Beach. If you're able to donate to it, we'd be grateful. It honors my dad's memory all also helping a place we love deeply.
