Joe’s Story

Site created on October 14, 2021

On Sunday, October 10, Joe Nyman experienced a fall from about 15 feet onto the ground. He is in ICU in Kadlec Hospital, Richland, WA.

He received immediate and excellent intervention and care both on the scene and in the ER. His injuries are pretty extensive but he is stable as far as the most severe conditions.

The other injuries, fractures and such, will be dealt with in the coming days and weeks.

He has a tough road ahead of him to regain his health and strength but our family is confident that he will do whatever it takes to heal the best he can.

There are many restrictions for visitors at the hospital so Sherri (his wife) and Tish (his daughter) are the only authorized visitors and are taking turns being by his side. That will continue to be their priority as our sweet family members take responsibility for updates, errands, etc.

In time, Joe will need help from friends and family who are physically strong in order to help him regain his own strength and mobility. Let’s start pumping iron so we’re strong and ready to help!!

The best thing we can do for dad and Sherri now is to pray and write sweet messages on the Caring Bridge site so we can read them to dad. He especially loves to hear about his family, their adventures, his Montana days, etc.

We don’t even know how to begin to thank all of you for your thoughts, prayers, messages, and well wishes.

Joe is our rock, our patriarch. We've never seen him sick or injured and this is hard for all of us. Our family is strong and he is even stronger.

Together, we will do whatever it takes to give back to this beautiful man who has given so much to all of us.

From the depths of my soul, I believe we’re witnessing a miracle in the making as he has already surpassed his medical team’s expectations by far.

On behalf of our family, whether blood-related or not, thank you.

Please note: Tribute donations do NOT go to Joe or his care; these donations go to CaringBridge for their use.
