Just a quick little update as several of you have reached out recently to see how things are going for Joelle, her health, and college life.
Joelle completed her freshmen year at St. Mary’s University in Winona (first day and last day pics included). The year was academically challenging, but in Joelle fashion she tackled it head on and is ready for a full load again next year. She even aced a few finals, which was a great text to get from her.
Health wise, she was faced with chronic sinus infections and low grade fevers, but we remained in contact with the team, and received stellar care to keep things under control.
Eliana and I have been going through our regular cardiac work up and had our final appointments with Dr. Ackerman today. We were able to surprise him with a visit from Joelle and made his day!!! (Photo included).
Joelle is excited to start her summer off working at Mayo Clinic as a PCA in the PICU. She’s excited to help others in an area she’s very familiar with and will help her as she pursues her career in medicine. She will also be traveling to San Diego this summer to compete in figure skating with her friends one last time.
