Joel’s Story

Site created on August 7, 2020

In May, 2012, Joel was diagnosed with stage two oligodendroglioma (cancerous brain tumor)  He went through brain surgery and six weeks of intense radiation treatments. It took a year or two for the inflammation to calm down after the radiation treatments had ended. The doctors were happy with how well the tumor responded to the radiation.  The MRIs showed stable in the following years until the end of April, 2020. After looking at the MRI, the doctors found a subtle change at the tumor area. The spasm-like seizures in his left arm were slowly getting worse and more frequent. After speaking with the medical team, the doctor felt it is necessary to proceed with another surgery....

Please pray for our family as we go through this together. We don't know what the future holds, but we know who holds the future. We can not fear tomorrow, God is already there.
