Journal entry by Kris Happe —
Well, Joe is back in the hospital. After meets with his surgeon last Wednesday and getting an antibiotic for bronchitis and an additional diuretic for fluid around his heart, we went home. Friday, Joe was experiencing what he described as his heart racing. We monitored for a bit…his heart rate was bouncing around erratically from 60 to 169. Fast forward. Emergency room. Medication to coax his irritated heart into a normal sinus rhythm....shocking his heart (he was sedated) to try and regain a normal sinus rhythm….nope.
I go to the cafeteria to grab a vending machine meal… come back and boom- he is back in a normal sinus rhythm! Tuna noodle salad does its every time! Apparently, the medicine was doing the trick.
He was admitted to the hospital (hospital jail)for various medication administration and heart observation reasons.
He is pretty down in the dumps and HATES not being able to go home. Luckily, his anxiety is much better this time and his nurses know him from out last visit…and know how to comfort him.
We are crossing our fingers he will be able to come home Monday:)
If you have a second, please reach out with some words of encouragement for him.
Thanks Everyone!
Kris
