We are blessed to have a village to take this journey with us.

Newest Update

Journal entry by Vanessa Bonasera

Wow Guys It’s Been Awhile- Thank you for your grace during this time.  We have been trying to heal and been getting back into a groove of life, which is more complicated than one would think. Then our entire family has had multiple illnesses . We are finally feeling better.  Anyhow! The final caring bridge.. Holy COW.  Our hearts are so full. We did it guys!! praise GOD!  The last 14 months seem to have been the longest time period of our lives but at the same time it seems like it flew by.  Joe is doing amazing! He has healed amazingly and his levels all are doing what they are supposed to do.  It seems almost a miracle how perfectly matched the kidney was and how quickly his body accepted the gift and healed. AGAIN GODS WILL !!  We have all been changed from this experience, our children have seen so much love and care from our community and friends/family.  They have seen FAITH and unconditional love.  As an adult Joe and  I have seen Gods love working thru people like never before and our hearts have been changed .  Our marriage is different - We are better partners .  Each of you have walked this journey with us.  We hope you also have seen the wonder of Gods love and how he works thru others. How he never fails.

Joe went back to work last week - his amazing Job had a pizza party for him and decorated the shop.  He is so happy!

here is a message from Joe

Hello everyone. It’s me, Joe, finally writing my own update. As most of you know by now, my transplant surgery went really well but I’m happy to inform you that my kidney is functioning really well. All of my labs are consistently coming back well within the healthy ranges. My incision is healing up nicely and I’m heading back to work this week. I’m really excited to get back to a “normal” life.

We couldn’t have gotten through this whole process if it hadn’t been for the support of family, friends, our church and to be totally honest, the help of strangers. The generosity of time, food and financial support made all of the struggles and challenges easier for my family. It’s easy to forget sometimes that there are so many wonderful people out there. People willing and eager to help. It has opened our eyes to the amazing community we are a part of.

We could never thank you all enough for everything you’ve done for us but it’s the obvious place to start. THANK YOU! We are so grateful for all of you. We will never forget what you’ve done.

to everyone- We love you- God Bless
