Joanne’s Story

Site created on February 3, 2019

Thank you for being a special person in Mom's life and checking in on her.

Mom has battled pneumonia since December.  She went to the hospital in early January but she has not bounced back like we had hoped.  We now have been told she has low potassium.  She and her family have decided on comfort care for her now at Waverly Gardens, her home for the last year and half.

She is tired and sleepy most of the time but knows her family and beams when she sees us.  The team there loves her and is taking good care of her and doing all they can to keep her comfortable.

Her faith is strong  and as she says, she "is ready to cross over Jordan" into her heavenly home and see the Lord and join her husband, Ed.   She also expects to see her brother-in-law, Glen Johnson, greeting her at the pearly gates.

If you know Joanne, you know she would love to see each and every one of you and and tell you in great detail what you mean to her and reminisce about sweet memories, but she is extremely weak and at this time needs your prayers for a peaceful journey home.

Thank you to everyone who has come into her life.  You have meant a great deal to her and have shaped her life at every stage, whether in Pennsylvania, Iowa, Ohio, or Minnesota.  Please send any prayers and wishes on this site and we will pass them on to her.

With love, Joanne's family - Julie, Paul, Olivia and Austin Peterson and Mark and Cindy Johnson
