Journal

I am new to this so I've invited friends to read  post and respond if you want to post a reply. Some may not know Ken spent close to 6wks in the hospital and rehab this past summer.  We got up one Friday morning and he couldn't walk because his left leg was paralyzed.  His doctors couldn't find out why but didn't think it was his Parkinsons.  ? CIDP, they couldn't say. I know very little about CIDP if interested just go to Mayo Clinic site and type in the initials in capital letters and click on patient information.  He has regained the use of his leg and walks some with a walker at home. He cant stand alone so for us to go we have to use his wheel chair. We have had 2 outings since getting a transport w/c. The oyster roast was great ! I would shuck one for him and one for me. His hands have been affected to the point he hardly can feed himself but he's a champ because he keeps at it with a weighted spoon and one certain bowl that works for him. He lost down to 114 but is up to 124.2 this week our 2nd outing was mentioned in my first post. Thank you Julie and Keith.  Neither of us ever dreamed this would be a mountain God would give us to climb.
We are very blessed in that he can stay home and my background as a nurse helps so much. It's not easy and so tiring. We are blessed in we have a great team from Kindred Home Care that comes in to help and teach. That about wraps up what I want to share today. Just one last thing, God gave us a great church years ago and they keep us in prayer and our Stephen Ministers send cards frequently to let us  know we are remembered. God Bless Joan
