11/27/2020 Friday morning update with Nurse Alex had me pretty confident that dad would be getting sprung out quickly. His lungs were clear, his vitals looked great, he was able to walk/ambulate. His potassium was 3.4 almost at level. He had been on room air all of Thanksgiving into most of Friday.

At some point after our video chat Friday evening into Saturday morning (8 AM-ish) things drastically changed.

Dad has become very unsettled, agitated, frustrated...after many calls between the nurse and a long conference with Dr. Zybko our fathers battle with Covid has become more complex and taken a turn.

Dad went from room air to a 4 liter push at some point Friday night. The respiratory staff then moved him to a 6-7 liter push...Dr decided he wanted another chest X-ray. (Friday clear - Saturday- possible pneumonia) Doc decided to start Decadron 6 mg. One time per day. Dad is still on his antibiotic for the UTI intravenously (4th dose) plus lovanox for blood clots which is another symptom of Covid and then we discussed and decided to add 100 mg of Remdesivir to the list.

Our father needs prayers!! Please lift him up and let him draw from our strength. He is a fighter...I believe he will overcome this.

Covid is a scary virus which has a mind of its own...it turns very quickly. The drs are worried dad could become hypoxic. His creatinine levels shot up to 20,000 on Friday night they are supposed to be below 500.

I am sharing this information so we can help each other. I want everyone I know and I love to be safe...this isn’t how you want to lose someone. Advocating and being a DPOA isn’t easy during a pandemic. This is the first time in 8 1/2 years that I have been caregiving for my father that I haven’t been next to his side. I am have let everyone know just because I am not sitting next to him doesn’t mean I don’t want to be involved in every aspect of his care....

Dad I love you ❤️ Keep fighting!
