Jim’s Story

Site created on October 31, 2022

Years ago, Jim was having consistent issues with his health, sick all the time with different infections.  After going to the doctor for various illnesses, he was eventually diagnosed with Common Variable Immune Disorder (CVID), an issue that lowers his immune system, thereby causing sickness to happen often.

In 2016, he developed Pneumonia, which in combination with CVID caused a further lung complication called Granulomatous and Lymphocytic Interstitial Lung Diseases (GLILD), a condition that caused granulomas to form in his lungs.  Since 2016, Jim experienced issues year by year that caused his breathing to become harder and harder with his blood oxygen level dropping lower.

Recently in early October, Jim experienced an event that caused his blood oxygen level to drop to a dangerous level.  This led him to the hospital. He’s now been in the hospital for 3 weeks trying to identify the root cause or why it’s progressing. Unfortunately, it is still progressing which then lead Jim to be placed on a ventilator. This ventilator will help Jim breathe and allow doctors to test without further placing stress on him. We are all currently waiting for Jim to receive a bed at the Harron Lung Center in Philadelphia so that he can receive further testing and treatment. Jim is looking forward to the rest with the ventilator and trusting Jesus throughout this entire process. We will continue to update along the way!
