Journal entry by Jimmy Campbell —
On April 9, 2021 at 6:06pm my husband was pronounced dead at home. I just gave him 6pm meds, walked to the kitchen and came back and he was gone. He has been in Hospice since February and he wanted to be at home with me.
They say that a loved one may wait till you leave the room before leaving, and that's just what he did.
I lost my mother when I was a teenager to cancer. I just thought that was hard. There is nothing like this empty loneliness I'm feeling.
Our granddaughter, Erika, set up a GoFundMe page:
Grandpa Jim's cremation
There is also a fundraiser account at First Giddings National Bank of Giddings Texas.
All funds go to pay for his cremation. We lost everything in Hurricane Harvey when we lived in Rockport Tx in 2017. We cancelled our life insurance so that we could use the money to relocate. Our plan was to start the life insurance again, but he became ill soon after.
He was the man of any woman's dream. Thoughtful, loving, big hearted, caring, trusting......I could go on and on for days. 30 years together and married in1994. Didn't get to see his 65th birthday. But we were blessed to have this last Christmas, New year's and Valentine's day. I'm so grateful that God made this man for me. Everyone has their ups and downs, good and bad days but we were able to come through the other side.
Words can never describe the loss I feel inside, but I have ALL of those memories.
All donations would be greatly appreciated and blessed.
Hold one to the ones you love as tight as you can because tomorrow is not promised.
God bless each and everyone of you!
