Journal

Hi Everyone! We thought it was time for an update. Actually, we know it is way past the time for an update and for that, we apologize. Turns out life doesn't stop when cancer treatment starts! It keeps rolling along and we keep rolling with it until we can finally hear the words "cancer-free".

I'm happy to say that Jim got through all three rounds of chemo without feeling nauseous! There were other side effects, but he pushed through and had his last treatment on January 7th. The chemo did its job and reduced the size of the tumor in half! We couldn't have asked for better results and were ready to move on to radiation. That started on February 26th.

Thanks to a clinical trial that fit Jim's diagnosis, he was able to do radiation every other day for 10 days. Same amount of radiation, just in a condensed time-frame. The normal cycle is 5 days in a row for 5 weeks, so cutting weeks off of that treatment meant that surgery could happen sooner. He will have a round of scans and tests on the 10th and surgery will be on the 16th.

So that's where were at. Chemo and radiation are done. He's still dealing with the side effects of the radiation, but hopefully not for much longer. Next stop, surgery!

Thank you for all of your love and support during this journey. We are so blessed to have you in our corner and appreciate every call, text, dinner, fruit basket, hug, handshake, encouraging facebook post...all of it. We love you all!
