Jim’s Story

Site created on November 6, 2020

Dear Family and Friends,
Around the first of September of 2020, Jim began experiencing periods of brain fog and constant fatigue, and later, numbness and weakness on the left side of his body. His neurologist ordered an MRI to rule out the possibilty of a stroke. Instead, the MRI revealed the cause of his symptoms to be a large, aggressive, malignant tumor the size of a ping-pong ball in the middle of his brain. It is a grade 4 glioblastoma and inoperable, due to the location of the tumor. A biopsy performed on November 6th, 2020 will determine the next steps for medical treatment. Results from the biopsy may take 7-10 days.
While this is certainly hard news, Jim and Ruth have continually expressed their complete confidence in God's goodness and recognize His faithfulness throughout their lives, and know that their days - however long - are in the hands of the Lord.
Jim and Ruth would greatly appreciate your prayers for them and their family as they walk this difficult time together in the days and months ahead. Thank you!
