Jim’s Story

Site created on September 30, 2021

Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.

Jim was very recently diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia. He is getting treated at Froedert Hospital. Please keep both Jim and Martha in your thoughts with sending love, prayers, and positive vibes. They are both incredibly strong and resilient! We are staying positive, trust the doctors and  continue to look forward to health and happiness!

A celebration of Jim’s life will be held on Saturday December 4, 2021 at Retzer Nature Center with visitation starting at 11:00 AM followed by the memorial service at 1:00 PM. A time for fellowship and a luncheon will follow the service. Address can be found below.  We would love for you to join us in celebrating this amazing man who was a husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, and friend. Feel free to share your favorite memories of time spent  with Jim or an instance where he made you laugh.

In remembrance of Jim, we would love to encourage you to consider donating blood, platelets, or registering to be a match for bone marrow donation. This information can be found at www.RedCross.org and www.bethematch.org. We would also like to advocate for anyone and everyone to have access to early detection of colon cancer. Jim was 53 years young when he was diagnosed with stage three colon cancer. He fought that battle against cancer with surgery and chemo therapy. This diagnosis of leukemia was a secondary side effect to the chemotherapy that he received for the colon cancer. We are so grateful for the additional years he had on this earth.
