Journal entry by Jill Kindle

I don’t think anyone is ever prepared to make a post like this, but here it goes.

On June 26th I was scheduled for a mammogram due to some concerns I was having. I received the call the next day that 4 masses were detected and it was recommended that I have biopsy on two of them including one of my lymph nodes. I went to Ellis Fischel last Monday July 2nd and received the news yesterday (July 8th) that I have Breast Cancer. They know that one of the masses is Grade ll invasive carcinoma, but aren’t certain if it is ductal or lobular. The good news is they didn’t find any cancer in my lymph node, so that is a positive sign!   I’m scheduled for an MRI tomorrow and am waiting on other markers in order to plan treatment and determine prognosis. I have an appointment scheduled for this Friday to discuss a plan with a surgeon.

I know this comes as a shock to many of you, but I am not going to let this get me down. I truly believe with 100% faith that this is all in God’s hands! I am strengthened with God and the support of my family and friends and feel certain that this is another part of my testimony of faith. I’ve never felt more certain of God’s unfailing love and grace over the last several years and know HE will carry me through this. I’m believing in God’s promises.
