Journal entry by Jessica Ross

I am sorry it has been so long.   A lot of things happened.  On November 15, Jill celebrated her 75th birthday.  It was very nice.  First her friends came to celebrate and then later, all of the family who was in town came as well as her sister Nikki from Indianapolis.  It was a special day.  Then Jed came with all 3 of his kids for Thanksgiving as well as all of Jody's kids.  Everyone took a rapid covid test the day of, and no one got sick.
Soon after, Jill began to have a high heart rate, respiratory rate, and white blood cell count.  She started to sleep 22 hours a day.  We couldn't figure out what was wrong.  Finally on January 3rd Jack and an aide took her to Northwestern in Chicago.  Unfortunately, they couldn't figure out what was wrong either.  Due to lack of enough staff, she developed a really bad bed sore as well as 4 trips to the ICU and 3 times on a ventilator.  Finally, on November 16th we brought her home.  We thought that as long as they didn't know what was wrong, at least she could be sick at home.  We have spent the past 2 weeks working on regaining her strength and getting rid of the bed sore.  She has slowly been improving.  Her bedsore is much better. She is doing much better.  She is back to having visitors almost every day.  Although due to the bedsore, often it is in bed as it hurts too much to stay in the wheelchair for long periods of time.  You can either signup with signup genius: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10C0F4DADAE2FA1F8CE9-visiting or by calling Jessica to sign up.  She loves visitors and would love to see you.  She is looking forward to seeing family for passover, which will be in the house.
Love,
The Ross'
