Journal entry by Jessica Sellman —
Today marks nine weeks since my surgery, and a return, albeit part-time, to a somewhat normal schedule that includes work.
My 8-week follow-up appointment last week in Cleveland went very well. I truly started noticing a difference in how I felt between the 6 and 7 week mark, and started to see my post-surgery symptoms and issues start to tail off. My incision is healing great, I've already seen a reduction in previous symptoms even though they tell me not to expect anything until 6 months, and I am almost using no medication at all at this point. Occasionally, if I overdo things, I might need some Motrin to deal with the mild headache or tension in my neck, but otherwise everyone is very happy with the progress I've made so far.
For the next few weeks, I will gradually add work hours as I can tolerate the additional time. It will be trial and error for a while, but I am confident that I will be operating full-time soon. Of course, this coincides with kid activities picking up, so I know things might be complicated for a little while!
Thank you all so much for the continued prayers and support. It means so much to me that I've been able to count on so many of you to boost my spirits, offer anything needed, and just be a supportive ear to listen. I honestly could not have gotten this far without the love I have felt over the last nine weeks. I didn't even know there were so many places that offered Masses and continual prayers until I started receiving all of your cards!
God bless you all!
