Jessica’s Story

Site created on September 13, 2019

Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.
On September 12, 2019, Jessica had a sudden onset of a crippling, severe pain in her head. She was rushed to the hospital and found to have a brain bleed. After stabilizing her, she was transferred to Johnston Willis. Further testing determined she suffered a Subarachnoid hemorrhage. She is currently in the neuroscience ICU unit and being monitored and treated for continual pain in the head. The angiogram results did not show an aneurysm but the test will be repeated.  She is currently taking medication to control spasms in the brain caused by the bleeding. She will be in the hospital for at least 7 days and maybe more. She is resting somewhat comfortably and appreciates your prayers and concern. Keep praying!

Journal entry by Sandra Harris

Hello all! Jessica is home resting! She is in good spirits and appreciates the acts of kindness from so many people. She has a few tests before returning to work in the near future. We are praising God for his protection and healing. As of now Jessica is still weak and sometimes foggy but that is to be expected as her brain continues to heal. We are expecting a full recovery! Praise God.
Thanks to everyone who has been able to help out with donations of food or financial support. We are just $1000 short of our goal to replace her lost income and pay for one month of health insurance.
Below is the link to the GoFundMe account. Please share with those who are looking for ways to help out.
Mostly we thank you for your prayers as we know our great God is in control and using this time of difficulty to bring glory to His healing power.
Keep praying!
