Jessica’s Story

Site created on February 7, 2023

Jessica Robinson was in a single-car accident early on February 3rd, 2023, in St. Croix Falls, WI. Good samaritans, first responders, and St. Croix Fire quickly arrived on the scene. She was extracted from the vehicle as the front and top were compacted. Jessica was transported to St. Croix Health and quickly flown to Regions Hospital in St. Paul, MN, where she was assessed and placed on a ventilator. Jessica sustained severe injuries to her spine, jaw, face, and skull. Her nearly 12-hour initial surgery on February 5th focused on repairing the fractures throughout her face and skull, performing a tracheostomy, and wiring her jaw shut.

Jessica was born in Albert Lea, MN, before moving to Osceola, WI, in grade school. She has continued to live and work in the area. Jessica is known for her goofy spirit, constant singing, and, of course, sass! Jessica's family is vigilantly praying and caring for her. She is loved by her parents, Mike and Monica Robinson, her brothers, Brandon, Josh, and Brent, their partners, Lisa, Rachael, and John, her nieces and nephews, Emily, Hunter, Ethan, Bekah, and Alex, and her daughter, Mercedes.

At 45 years old and as the mother of an eighteen-year-old daughter, Jess has a lot of life left to live; moments with her daughter, memories with her family, and dreams she still ought to chase are all in her future. When I (her niece, Emily) asked Jessica many years ago what she would do if she could do anything, she said she would "travel the world and find the love of her life!" We all believe Jessica will still fulfill this dream with the right help.

Jessica lives modestly on a single income. The medical expenses Jessica will accrue through this healing journey are unimaginable. Doctors estimate it will be a full year of procedures and therapies before they fully understand the long-term impact of her injuries; if she can return to work, it likely won’t be for more than a year. Please consider donating to Jessica's GoFundMe, linked on the "Ways to Help" page. Your love and support allow Jessica to focus on the most important thing in this process, her healing!

We appreciate the support so many have shown through love, prayers, well wishes, and donations. It means more than you know! Thank you for visiting.

FYI: "Tributes" on this site fund CaringBridge but do not go to Jessica.
