Unwavering faith in God keeps us grounded as life continues to take unforeseen turns.

Jessica's appointment at Northwestern yesterday went differently than we expected. Instead of receiving a proton treatment plan and schedule, she was told that in her case, it is best to wait and continue healing. The Radiation Oncologist explained that proper timing is critical. Her most recent MRI shows an area that cannot currently be distinguished between either normal after-surgery swelling or residual tumor. As much as Jessica wished she could complete this phase as soon as possible, he explained the need to wait for further certainty.

For the near future, she will continue extra-high image MRIs every few weeks, along with additional testing to determine the "sweet spot" of timing for any proton therapy. The doctor also said that ideally, she may be able to hold off for many months, providing additional healing time prior to any radiation if, and when, that is needed.

This journey began exactly three years ago with unusual symptoms. It is hard to believe what has happened since then.
