Jessica’s Story

Site created on December 8, 2020

Thank you for joining me on my cancer journey. I have read many journals for other people, but never thought I would be in a position to need my own. I guess that's probably true of most people who have created a page for themselves. I am using caringbridge so that I am able to keep my family and friends updated on what is going on during this time. I am so blessed with so many people that support me and want to pray for me, but keeping up with everyone (and not leaving anyone out) would become a full time job! -- What I'm facing may not be an easy journey, but I know that God has got this. I will hold tight to that. Isaiah 41:10. “Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” --- My story started with bloating that didn't go away, ever. Monday, November 30 2020, I had a CT scan that showed masses on both ovaries and a lot of fluid in the abdomen. A CT scan on Tuesday showed no signs of fluid or spots on the lungs or heart (good news). Blood work showed elevated tumor markers, one specifically that can indicate colon cancer. Biopsies were done on Thursday and thats where my story begins. Update - Nov 2021 .. here we go again! I have been diagnosed with a reoccurance. Dec 2023 .. still fighting Surgery # 3.

Journal entry by Jessica Frederick

Hello!

While the weather outside is frightful (ok, yucky), being home is delightful!!! Let it rain, let it rain, let it rain!!

So glad to be home after my unexpected stay at hotel Froedtert. The care was great, but it is time to be home!

Also, can you believe it - Isaiah is 2 today!!! He brings me so much Joy, even on the toughest days.

Thanks for all your thoughts and prayers, let's pray for some uneventfulness for awhile!!
