Journal entry by Jessica Bussard —
Today was my first day of physical therapy. It was also perfect weather for being outside and riding a bike. (After a week of 100+ degree weather, it cooled off to about 80 degrees today) So of course I rode my bike to PT but there was no bike rack so I locked up at the bank across the way. (Why don’t all medical buildings and gyms have bike racks?)
I sauntered into the PT office confident and feeling good! The therapist taught me what to look for and how to loosen the scars and then she showed me how to stretch out my pectoral muscles that were angry because the surgery messed up their comfy home. By the time I walked out of that office, I was able to lift my arms over my head. Woohoo. It felt like magic. After weeks of balancing on my tippy toes to grab a dish, I can now easily grab myself a bowl for the ice cream I dug out of the freezer. 🍦🍨
