Wow, what a day we have had!!!  Some may not know that after 32 days in the hospital we were released. That only lasted 13 hours and we were called back to Portland. Jesse was not admitted, but we had to be closer to the hospital. We once again moved into The Rood Family Pavilion, across the street from OHSU. We were scheduled for blood and platelets every other day, or every day, depending on his needs. Then we would go for chemo once a week. Jesse's previous needs for blood and platelets had been daily.
Well, we saw Dr, Spurgeon today. He entered the room and had a strange look on his face and was just slowly shaking his head. It was a way he had never greeted us before. He continued shaking his head while telling us that Jesse, once again, amazed him. His platelets went from 7 to 59, and he has not had a need for platelets or blood in 5 days. Our entire team proceeded to stop by and share their surprise and happiness with us as well. There was a constant conversation regarding how scared they were, just 2 weeks ago, that he was not going to make it. Dr. Spurgeon said he had no idea how he pulled through AND began making platelets, but we know!!!
There have been times throughout this journey that we have felt the enemy knocking at our door, trying to push us into believing that we had no hope, no savior, no promises of healing. We stood firm on knowing that our Heavenly Father was walking every step of this journey with us and He is more powerful than the enemy, fiercer than cancer and ever present.  We have just witnessed yet another miracle in Jesse Walters’ journey. The giddiness in seeing doctors try to figure out a scientific answer to their questions has become a game of sorts. It is such a gift to have a story to share that builds the kingdom of God. We have prayer warriors from Tennessee to Astoria and many places in between. The Lord has heard every word and has blessed us with more time to make memories, laugh, witness to others, and spread His word.
If there is any individual reading this that has any doubt about how loving and caring our Father is, just go back through these posts and see how many times he has met us exactly where and when we needed it. There is nothing special about us or our situation, Christ wishes to bless all his kids. All He asks is that we accept Him as our Savior, confess our sins and trust in Him. Believe me, a relationship with Christ is the greatest gift you will ever receive. I urge you to step out and allow Christ to enter your heart, your home, and your life.
We will be going back home on May 3rd. Our trips will only be every 2 weeks and we will continue this for 1 year to complete the chemotherapy. There is an exceptionally good chance that Jesse will be in remission by the 6 month point of chemo.
We have no doubt that we will be triumphant, and that the Lord's will continues to be done. We give Christ all praise and thanksgiving for how He cares for us, blesses us, and gives us His word to live by.
All our love, hugs and wishing for blessings to all!
